The only one of its kind in all of Ontario, The Darling Home for Kids is Ontario’s first Pediatric Hospice. It provides a high quality respite, along with residential, hospice and palliative care services for children who are medically complex. Sargent Farms has been a donor for over three years, reaching Founding Partners this year. We are so incredibly proud of this partnership and everything the Darling Home does for the children and their families. We wanted to share it with you, and give you the opportunity to be a part of something truly life changing.
The Darling Home sits on a beautiful 77 acre woodlot in Milton, and has been providing comfort and care to families of children with medical complexities for over a decade. The fundamental philosophy of the Darling Home is that all children are loved, valued and given the opportunity to be challenged in an environment where they can thrive. Truly a home away from home filled with love. Currently, The Darling Home has several wonderful facilities in order to provide these children and their families with the best possible care. For example, several bedrooms for their permanent care children, as well as for overnight respite and palliative. Also, a large family room, a kitchen, multi-purpose room, multi-sensory room, hydrotherapy, outside walking trails, a playground, a therapeutic sculpture garden and a waterfall. This allows the children to interact with nature and have a summer camp feel, while providing parents with the peace of mind knowing that their kids are safe.
With all that The Darling Home has to offer, the need for more space and more care is growing exponentially. Since opening their doors in 2004 the number of children with medical complexities has reached over 16,000 in Ontario alone. This is why we want to share how you can help; The Embrace Campaign. The Embrace Campaign’s main goal is to be able to help more kids and more families, by adding 10,000 square feet to their current facility.
